Usage
It's easy to become dependent on depressants like alcohol and Xanax due to their popularity and ease of access. 50% of all people on Earth drink alcohol.
Examples
Alcohol, Benzodiazepines (Xanax), GHB, Kava, and toxic inhalents.
Affects
Calming effects such as sleepiness, slowed metabolism and pain relief as well as reduced inhabitions and impaired judgement.
Use in Psychology
Benzodiazepines are prescribed to treat anxiety, muscle spasms and seizures, alcohol withdrawl, and in some cases: used before a dental operation to relax a patient and reduce pain.
Dissociative Anesthetics
Usage
Commonly used in the medical field and sold in streets as stand-alone mind altering drugs. Readily available.
