- Start with flu like symptoms
- Can develop to tumours/cancer if left untreated
- Differ from person to person

- White blood cells become infected
- Makes it difficult to fend of infections because of weakened immune systems

- Anti retroviral drugs (prevent virus replicating of entering host)
Tobacco mosaic
Symptoms
- Light green colouring between veins in young leaves
- Quickly develops into a mosaic type pattern on leaves
- Dark green patches
Effects
- Stops the plant growing (have no energy)
- Virus spreads through the the vessels in the plants and this causes abnormal reactions (mosaic patterns)

- Naturally (ways of viruses)
- Through the unsanitary hands of farmers (usually after smoking)

Symptoms
- Fever
- Skin rash
- High temperature

- No specific treatment (because it is a viral infection, your body has to fight it off)
- Help by darkening the room, clean eyes regularly, take paracetamol, stay hydrated
