Vena cava
draws deoxygenated blood from the rest of the body
blood then travels to the right atrium

receives deoxygenated blood from the vena cava
blood then travels to the right ventricle
Right ventricle
takes deoxygenated blood from the right atrium and pumps it to the pulmonary artery
Pulmonary artery
Deoxygenated blood travels through this to get to the lungs to be oxygenated
Pulmonary vein
Newly oxygenated blood travels through this from the lungs to the heart.
Left atrium
Receives oxygenated blood from the lungs and sends it to the right ventricle
Right ventricle
Pumps oxygenated blood to the rest of the body
Aorta
Blood travels through it from the right ventricle to the rest of the body
Lungs

first and biggest part of the organ

controls breathing in and out

connect arteries and veins
one cell thick, carry blood under very low pressure
