Defination
is defined as the bleeding that occurs outside your normal period in the absence of uterine pathology or medical illness.
Nursing care plan
Provide opportunity for discussion of personal feelings or concerns and future expectations
Identify previous coping strengths of the patient and current areas of control or ability
Encourage patient to acknowledge and express fears
Encourage use of relaxation techniques likes deep breaths and guided imagery
Identify patients perception of threat represented by the situation
Pathophysiology
Eventually outgrowing its blood supply, it then sloughs incompletely and bleeds irregularly and sometimes profusely or for a long time
Without progesterone the endometrium continues to proliferate
During an anovulatory cycle, the corpus luteum doesn't form, then it results in the normal cycle secretion of progesterone to not occur.
