Prejudice and discrimination within people, Diversity, Bias, Stereotype,…
-
Diversity
Born in or changed into a certain group, what diversity is to 'society'. Abnormal or normal .. What makes it abnormal to society? What considers us diverse? According to society's eyes, diversity is your opening and accepting to change

Bias
"society feels prejudice toward people who deviate from the norm, those who break physical or social patterns." The researchers did an experiment but it left unexpected variance. A loathe in patterns that are broken does not mean that you are racist. Or being a person who is 'nice and tidy' does not make you prejudice. Article: Why are people prejudice? https://www.cnn.com/2018/01/29/opinions/prejudice-broken-patterns-opinion-gollwitzer-bargh/index.html
Common 'hosts' to discrimination. Some examples include: Muslims are terrorists, whites are more educated and have a better off chance, immigrants take 'our jobs, etc.
What you grow up being told or seeing that makes you feel something towards race, culture, creed, religion, organizations, etc.
Two forms of bias: Explicit or conscious and unconscious bias or implicit bias https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_qERP-Y0Jw&feature=emb_logo
Continued onto the video of reducing implicit bias. We don't intend to discriminate others. But there is implicit bias specially in the medical field nurses and nurse practitioners. Therefore they can't give 'proper' care to minority groups. Some reasons can be because the nurse don't want to help out someone with a different race. Another reason could be because the patient doesn't trust that they are in good hands and can't let their life depend on it. There are many more reasons that we have implicit bias but the medical field is one workplace that experiences implicit bias. http://www.ihi.org/communities/blogs/how-to-reduce-implicit-bias
Conscious Bias. Not all biases have a negative effect. We are all bias, some have more topics of bias then others. When we are at a young age we tend to discriminate people that are not in our social groups. Differentiating people that are 'in-group' and 'out-group' making us experience bias. You can not be unbiased because everyone has a certain degree of bias. We can help reduce bias so we don't judge people https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/basics/bias

Stereotype
Different opinions formed, Separated into social groups. Can be put into many throughout one's lifetime. Stereotyped for anything mainly because of media...Evolved into media
-
We think that prejudice and stereotypes are normal, we automatically place labels on people! We categorize people automatically when we first meet them. Throughout the relationship or friendship we then keep the stereotypes in our unconscious because we know the person better. https://www.verywellmind.com/what-is-prejudice-2795476
Whistling Vivaldi (book) based on stereotypes, different experiments on how stereotypes affect us and what we can do to minimize it.
Ignorance
Raised by 'guardian' stereotyping certain groups. Not enough knowledge, before judging. Not enough to broaden your mind, don't allow yourself to different possibilities
