Curriculum is like the central nervous system of education because curriculum helps operate many functions of learning, just as the nervous system of the body controls most movement and function. Curriculum involves all materials and includes instructional practices of those in teaching and coaching positions.

Gordon et al., (2019) explains it like this: “officially, curriculum is the what and instruction is the how” (p. 3).

"The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child." -Carl Jung
