Purposes: Avoiding plagarism and demonstrating to the tutor
In-text citations: Mentioning sources of information within the article, includes author name and date
Reference list: Writing full details of the items refer to the text. This will help readers locate the sources.

Plagiarism
Plagiarism occurs when you pass someone else's work off as your own without acknowledging them.
Plagiarism activities
copying a friend's essay, or parts of
copying sentences, sections, lists or diagrams from books or journals without referencing them or using appropriate quotations
cutting and pasting from the Internet or other sources and not acknowledging all sections;
superficial adaptation of material
Tip avoid plagiarism
write separate notes, which review your highlights but are written in your own words.
If you want to quote anything directly. you must reference the words in your text and include an end-of-text reference
