        Grossly:
        pale, firm, slightly swollen area usually called infarct.

        Most commonly seen due to
        
        ischaemia and
        
        bacterial and
        
        fungal infections
        
        Grossly:
        affected area is soft with liquefied centre containing necrotic debris.
        
        Later cyst wall formed
        
        Caseous = cheese like
        
        Grossly :
        resemble dry cheese, soft, granular and yellowish.
        
        FAT NECROSIS
        
        Mainly in fat-rich anatomic locations :
        
        breast,
        
        mesenteric fat,
        
        pancreas
        
        Grossly:
        yellowish-white and firm deposits. Calcium soaps are firmer with chalky
        white appearance
        
        FIBRINOID NECROSIS
        
        Mainly in immunologic tissue injury,
        
        arteriols in HTN,
        
        peptic ulcer
