Most common aches and pains
Cardiovascular System
Arterial hypertension
Disease characterized by a pressure inside the blood vessels (arteries) above 140/90.
Symptoms
It usually does not produce any symptoms, but some people may have a headache, shortness of breath, or nosebleeds.
Causes
Among the causes we find: age, race, overweight or obesity, sedentary lifestyle, stress, consumption of tobacco, alcohol and too much sodium.
Arteriosclerosis
Abnormal deposit of lipids and fibrous tissue in the wall of the arteries
Symptoms
These symptoms usually occur when blood flow to a part of the body becomes slow or blocked. May cause chest pain and shortness of breath
Causes
Obesity, sedentary lifestyle, smoking, foods with a high percentage of saturated fat, high cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
Heart failure
A condition in which the heart can no longer efficiently pump oxygen-rich blood to the rest of the body
Symptoms
Dyspnoea
edema
fatigue and weakness,
ascites.
Causes
The myocardium cannot push blood out of the heart very well (systolic heart failure). The myocardium is stiff and does not fill with blood easily (diastolic heart failure)
Cerebrovascular disease (stroke)
Injury to the brain caused by the interruption of the blood supply.
Symptoms
Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding speech, sudden trouble seeing with both eyes, severe headache, sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm, or leg.
Causes
Thrombus phlebitis, ruptured aneurysm, atherosclerotic thrombosis, high blood pressure, diabetes, apnea.
Respiratory System
Asthma
Chronic lung disease that inflames and narrows the airways
Symptoms
vary from person to person: shortness of breath, chest pain or tightness, coughing or wheezing, trouble sleeping caused by shortness of breath.
Causes
Substances found in the air such as pollen, mites, pet leaf mold spores, respiratory infections, physical activity, pollutants such as smoke, strong emotions and stress.
Bronchitis
Inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubes that carry air in and out of the lungs.
Symptoms
cough with dry or chronic phlegm, fatigue or discomfort, nasal congestion, headache and throat.
Causes
it is caused by colds, flu, cigarette smoking, air pollution, and dust or toxic gases in the environment
Rhinitis
Irritation and inflammation of the mucous membrane in the nose.
Symptoms
runny nose, watery, red and itchy eyes, cough, itchy nose, and fatigue.
Causes
mites, fungi, cockroaches, Colds and allergies are the most frequent causes of rhinitis.
Tonsillitis
Swelling of the two oval tissue pads at the back of the throat.
Symptoms
sore throat, difficulty swallowing, and tender lymph nodes
Causes
viral or bacterial infection.
Neurological System
Epilepsy
Epilepsy is a central nervous system (neurological) disorder in which brain activity becomes abnormal, causing seizures or periods of unusual behaviors or sensations, and sometimes loss of consciousness.
Symptoms
Temporary confusion
Episodes of absences
Uncontrollable jerking movements of the arms and legs
Loss of consciousness or consciousness
Psychic symptoms, such as fear or anxiety
Causes
Epilepsy has no identifiable cause in about half of the people who have this disease.
Migraine
severe throbbing pain or a throbbing sensation in the head, usually on one side only.
Symptoms
sickness
vomiting
sensitivity to light and sound
Sight loss
Causes
There may be imbalances in brain chemicals, including serotonin, which helps regulate pain in the nervous system.
Alzheimer's
It is a progressive disorder that causes brain cells to waste away (degenerate) and die.
Symptoms
Loss of memory
Difficulty remembering recent events or conversations
Causes
The most common cause of dementia, a continued decline in thinking, behavioral and social skills that impairs a person's ability to function independently.
Parkinson's
It is a progressive disease that affects movement.
Symptoms
trembling in the body
stiffness or decreased movement
Altered posture and balance
Causes
Loss of neurons that produce dopamine, a kind of chemical messenger in the brain. When dopamine levels decrease, an abnormality in brain activity is generated
Musculoskeletal System
osteoarthritis
It is a chronic rheumatic disease that damages the articular cartilage. It occurs mainly in the hands, knees, hips, and cervical and lumbar spine.
Symptoms
Joint pain
limitation of movements
derrame articular.
creaks
Causes
The causes that produce osteoarthritis are not exactly known, but there are some risk factors associated with its appearance
Back pain
Back pain is one of the most common medical problems. Back pain can range from a dull, constant ache to a sudden, severe pain. Acute back pain comes on suddenly and usually lasts for a few days or weeks.
Symptoms
Muscle pains
Throbbing pain
Pain radiating down the leg
Pain that worsens when bending, standing, or walking
Causes
Back pain can be caused by falling or lifting a heavy object.
Fractures
Fractures is a discontinuity in the bones, as a result of blows, forces or tractions whose intensities exceed the elasticity of the bone.
Symptoms
Deformation of the area.
Swelling, bruising, or bleeding in the affected area.
Numbness and tingling
Limited or disabled movement.
Fever
Causes
The causes of bone fractures can be trauma, overuse, and diseases that weaken the bones.
osteoporosis
It causes bones to become weak and brittle, to the extent that a fall or even slight strain, such as bending over or coughing, can cause a fracture.
Symptoms
Loss of height over time
Back pain, caused by a broken or crushed vertebra
A hunched posture
Causes
The likelihood of developing osteoporosis depends in part on how much bone mass you gained in your youth. As people age, bone mass is lost faster than it is created.
