War of the Roses
It was fought between 1455 and 1485
After the foreign wars, England was fought between the quarrels of two branches of the royal family:
House of York
House of Lancaster
Their emblem was a white rose

for this it was known as "war of the roses"
the war was won by Henry Tudor, of the house of Lancaster

The last of the York, Richard II, was killed in the battle of Bosworth Field in 1485

Henry VIII and the break with Rome
Richard I who reigned from 1483 to 1485 was the last king of the house of York
Since he had no male heir, he was concerned that if the succession was not established the Tudor government would collapse.
In 1533 Henry VIII ordered the Archbishop of Canterbury to declare his marriage null and void and married Anne Boleyn in a private ceremony.
this act led to the break with Rome
When Henry VIII died in 1547, he was succeeded for 9 years by Edward VI.
