Miss Brockenborough's Maker Space
The philosophy of this maker space is for students to take the content learned in class and apply it in a fun and engaging way. I see this space as a way to provide choice for students during formal assessments, and as a way for them to use their skills and challenge themselves with a new task. My main goal Is for students to have educational equity In the classroom, so that all students have access and experience with technology.
3d Printer
I would use this 3d printer for students to build their own projects. I can see them using this to create their own 3d maps in Social Studies.

Book Creator
Students can use Book Creator to make their own stories! In our writing unit, students can work together or individually to create their own narratives in a digital way.

W.2.4
With guidance and support from adults, use a variety of digital tools and resources to produce and publish writing, including in collaboration with peers.
Green Screen
This station will contain a green screen, iPad equipped with backgrounds, and props. In this station, students will channel their inner meteorologist for our weather unit! Students can use this space to apply their knowledge of our learning content.

Recognize the tools that scientists use for observing, recording, and predicting weather changes from day to
day and during the seasons.
Makey Makey
I envision students using Makey Makey in our math unit to calculate money. Students will create their own "store" and use Makey Makey to learn the different variations of making dollar amounts with coins.
NC.2.MD.8
Solve word problems involving:
• Quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies within 99¢, using ¢ symbols appropriately.
• Whole dollar amounts, using the $ symbol appropriately.
Google Expedition
Students can use Google Expedition in our Social Studies unit to explore important historical sites in history. Students will use their knowledge of historical figures studied in this unit to see examples of monuments, museums, and sites dedicated to their work
