Abortion Should Remain Legal - Coggle Diagram
Abortion Should Remain Legal
Women should have the right to their own bodies
The fetus is inside the mother, its happening to her body
a pregnancy can cause a setback in a women's personal life (would have to take time off of work and wouldn't be as involved in society)
Pregnancy due to rape
can cause extreme emotional and physical trauma for the woman
a woman shouldn't have to carry that fetus to term if she was raped
Unsafe abortions can be dangerous
if legal abortions are banned women will turn to dangerous methods
cause women to inflict physical trauma on their own bodies
Miscarriage
called a spontaneous abortion
some people want to make this illegal but how can you make it illegal if its not the woman's fault?
a fetus is not a human
what makes a human human?
there is no evidence of when a fetus becomes human
the heartbeat law
stops abortion after 6 weeks when "heartbeat" is detected
this is not a heartbeat, it is an electrical flutter of cells that will become the heart
this law doesn't even make sense regarding when the abortions have to stop
dangerous pregnancies
these can be detrimental to the womans health
why should you have to risk loosing the mother and fetus when you only have to loose 1 of them
roe v wade
14th amendment protects the choice to get an abortion (due process clause)
abortion can be considered unconstitutional because of this
planned parenthood v casey
protects the woman's choice to have an abortion
fetus has extreme disorder/sickness
terminating the pregnancy will save the fetus from a hard life
if they wont be able to live a good life the woman should make a decision based on what she thinks would be best for her and the fetus
