Meta Cognition
Theory: (Garner 1987) Metacognitive skills allow us to understand how the task was performed. Metacognition is knowledge and understanding of our own cognitive processes. Encouraging the child to see themselves as agents in their own learning
Theory: The Learning Cycle (Kolb 1984) Metacognitive skills encourage self reflection and higher order thinking supporting the learning cycle
Theory: 'Inside the Black Box, Black and William, 2001)If classroom focus is on rewards and highest grades children look for clues and if they don;t achieve they internalise and believe they have a lack of ability deterring them from inputting any further effort.
Factual Info fades quickly, teaching children how to learn will prepare them for their future.

Teacher Identity
How does your Teacher Identity impact on how frequently you assess your class and what you assess them on. I believe children need to understand the NC and this is their key goal but should also be assessed on other behavioural factors to aid learning e.g. confidence in sharing and verbalising ideas in the classroom.
Neoliberalism
Neoliberalism has impacted summative assessment in UK through SATS (Year 2,6), Phonics and Eleven Plus exam.
