This Act allows for a terminally ill patient to request a lethal medication that will hasten their death

Where is Euthanasia legal right now
California, Colorado, Oregon, Vermont, Maine, New Jersey, Hawaii, and Washington are all states where euthanasia is legal
In these states you must be over the age of 18 years old
Residency in these states is required in order to follow through with euthanasia
Must be diagnosed with less than 6 months to live or have a terminal illness
Advantages of Euthanasia
Respect for patient autonomy
An end to the suffering
Allows for safe medical practices
Disadvantages of Euthanasia
Increased number of deaths by suicide
People may see this as their only options
Individuals may believe they are a burden to their families
May stop participating in daily activities
They may give up all their hope in fighting their disease and trying to living longer
