Tarqui is a Colombian municipality located in the south-central part of the department of Huila between the branching of the Central Mountain Range and the left bank of the Magdalena River between the Oporapa Gorge and those of Lagunilla, Minas and Tinco to the north. Its territorial extension is of 347 km², its height is of 796 msnm and its temperature average is of 25°C
It has a population of 18,271 inhabitants according to DANE's projection for the year 2019. It is part of the Subcentral Region of the department. Agriculture, livestock and fish farming are the basis of its economy. It is known as the "Cradle of Bishops" or "El Ruiseñor del Huila".

GIGANTE
Gigante is a Colombian municipality located in the center-east of the department of Huila. It is part of the Andean region, on the left bank of the Magdalena River between the western mountain range and the Matambo hill. Its territorial extension is of 626 km², its height is of 860 msnm and its temperature average is of 24°C
It has a population of 34,410 inhabitants according to DANE's projection for the year 2019. The urban area of the municipality is located in the northeast part of the department (Subcentral Region).
