CYCLE 3 CLASS
ANIMAL ADAPTATION
Adaptations are any behavioral or physical characteristics of an animal that help it to survive in its environment. These characteristics fall into three main categories: body parts, body coverings, and behaviors. Any or all of these types of adaptations play a critical role in the survival of an animal
ADAPTATIONS IN DESSERT
Conservation of water through sweating - Adaptation to nocturnal life - Specialized mode of excretion - Other sources of water - Specialized appendages
- Camels can store grease in their humps so they don't have to drink water. 2. Foxes and other predators have the ability to see through the night so they can easily catch preys.

PLANT ADAPTATION
Adaptations are special features that allow a plant or animal to live in a particular place or habitat. These adaptations might make it very difficult for the plant to survive in a different place. This explains why certain plants are found in one area, but not in another.
ADAPTATIONS IN DESERT
Water storage
- Succulents are plants that can storage water in their leaves and steams.
- Some plans have deep long roots to absorb water from the ground.
-
ADAPTATIONS IN AQUATIC
Steams and roots
- Aquatic plants have roots underwater to collect nutrients, but at the same time the upper half is on the surface to do photosyntesis.
- The food, nutrients and air are absorbed by through modified stems and roots.
