Book inquiry lesson reaing ‘When heaven fell’ Students would explore Asian cultural aspects of a child growing up. This lesson will get students to engage in inquiry learning through group question time. Exploring understanding through deconstructing the text, finding key words and exploring learning about the Vietnam war. Develop a word wall, each lesson new words added.
Rationale: Students will be asked to investigate the diversity of cultures, values, beliefs, histories and environments of Asia to learn diversity and multiculturalism

Review of Asia information, followed by an online lesson allowing the students to engage in independent research and class discussion to create a venn diagram of Australian cultural celebrations and Asian to compare and contrast similar and different aspects of shared culture. Words added to word wall.

HT2-1 –Asia and Australia celebrations and commemorations online study
Review of Asia information, followed by viewing lesson on Asian life and culture shows the change of a culture and how Asian communities have grown to become dominate financial leaders in the world. This activity will allow the students to create a journey map of the development of Asian culture to explore their progression. Words added to word wall.
