Formative
Definition: Formative assessments are used to gather evidence of student learning. It is a great way to get student feedback in order to adjust and modify instruction. These tests are worth little to no point value.
Exit Ticket: Teacher can put a question or prompt on the board, and student write the answer on an index card as their ticket out of class.
Pre-assessment: Teachers can provide a pre-assessment to see the students knowledge before she starts teaching the unit.
Interm/benchark
Definition: Interm/benchmark are used to see where students are in their learning As well as to see if they are on track with their learning in order to do well on future assessments.

STARR- State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness Tests students knowledge learned in their grade level (3rd and up).
Summative
Definition: Summative assessments are given at the end of a unit or module. They are used to show what the student learned during that unit. They are usually high grade value.

Project/Presentation: Student can complete a project over the topic of the unit in order to test their knowledge.
Performance
Definition: Performance assessment requires a student to perform a task rather than a written assessment.

Student teaches- Students can re teach the topic. This will allow the teacher how well the student actually understood the topic.
Diagnostic
Definition: Diagnostic assessments are used to find students' strengths and weaknesses. They can also help identify any misconceptions a student has. This can help the teachers plan their instruction to better meet the needs of their students.
Running Records- Assess students reading level and comprehension.
Pretests to a unit: Help teachers find out what the student know and don't know. As well as show their misconceptions.
