- - - - Quizes: Students will take a short 5 question quiz on non-fiction text structures.
      - Exit Ticket: Students will complete sticky note exit ticket on one new thing they learned in the class period and one thing they want to know more of.
- - - - Benchmark Assessment System (BAS): Students will complete a running record with their teacher to help determine their reading level
        
        Where to Start Word Test: Students will read a list of words to help determine where their reading level is at at the beginning of the year
- - - - End of Unit Exam: Text given to students at the end of a unit or term to see what they learned during that time
        
        End of Semester Project: A project given to the students over a topic that they learned during the semester with a rubric provided
- - - - Definition: Periodic test given to see if students are on track in their learning
        
        District Assessments: Test given to students in each subject once every 9 weeks to see if students are remembering what they are learning
        
        STAAR: State wide test given at the end of the year in order to see what students learned and retained in their grade level
- - - - Prose or Poetry Read aloud: Students will read aloud a poem that they created during the poetry unit of class
      - Readers theatre: Students will act out one of their readings in class in a play form
