Pre-Assessment
Topic- Arrays
First, students will participate in “Turn and Talk”. This will give them the opportunities to make sense of the information presented by asking and answering each other's questions. Students will then complete a small group activity which will requires them to read various task cards and draw arrays to match repeated addition problems and multiplication problems. Task cards may also provide drawn arrays and students need to match them with the appropriate repeated addition and multiplication problem.
Group 3: 5 Students:
These students could not properly match the arrays and number sentences. The students need more review on the prior topics- equal groups and repeated addition.

Group 2: 12 Students
These students could match some arrays and problems but struggled to create their own arrays and matching problems.

These students were not only able to match arrays and number sentences but were also able to create their own arrays and write matching number sentences.
