The sub-region Center or Sub-center, is one of the 4 sub-regions of the Colombian department of Huila. It is located in the center of the department and has 8 municipalities, its capital city is Garzón.

population
209,535 people live (DANE 2015 projection), which is equivalent to 17.85% of the inhabitants of Huila. 57.72% of these reside in the field. It is the most densely populated compared to its surface. The sector of the Magdalena valley that corresponds to it will be flooded to build the Quimbo dam that will bring tourism, fish farming, employment, energy and new roads.
economy
The economic region of the Center is specialized in the construction of machinery, the chemical industry and the textile industry. Agriculture in the region produces long fiber flax, potatoes and vegetables. Raising cattle for milk is also common.

This subregion has tourist attractions such as La Jagua, Parroquia San Miguel, Salto de las Damas, Sombrero Suaceño, Cerro Páramo Miraflores Regional Natural Park, among others, in addition to the diocesan capital, Garzón.2
