Formative
Definition:
Formative Assessments are a way for teachers to continuously monitor student learning by providing feedback about improvement and progress in the curriculum. This type of assessment usually has low to no grade value, and takes place quite often in the classroom.

Quizalize:
A website that teachers can use to create virtual quizzes for students. Once the student has completed the quizalize and depending on their score, the website will give the student a video to review or learn from. This allows for digital differentiation within one website.
Summative
Definition:
Summative Assessments are a way for teachers to assess student learning at the end of an instructional unit by comparing learned knowledge to a curriculum standard. This typeof assessment holds a high grade value by using critical thinking in application and evaluation strategies.
Project:
Students will be formally assessed by creating a unique project with alignment from the teacher. This usually takes multiple days for completion.
Unit Exams:
A formal assessment that summarizes the unit into a paper or digital exam that students complete.
Performance
Definition:
A performance assessment requires students to perform task in a unique way based on the curriculum content instead of choosing from a pre-made list of ideas.
Portfolio:
Allows students to document their work and ideas into a single folder that represents their performance in the related content. They can use the items in the portfolio to share ideas and promote their own academic achievements to others.
UIL:
The Universal Interscholastic League (UIL) allows students to perform different academic categories in a contest. This is known widely in Texas in both public elementary and secondary schools.

Diagnostic
Definition:
Diagnostic Assessments will inform teachers about student achievement gaps and other academic abilities that impact the student's learning. Using this type of assessment will allow teachers to create lesson plans according to the accommodations the student needs.
Edulastic:
This is a website that teachers can use to load pretests for students before the beginning of a new unit. It will give a full diagnostic spreadsheet on how well the students answered the questions.
Student self-assessment:
Teachers can use student self assessments to see what students prior knowledge is and how they are feeling about the curriculum they are learning. Using this form of assessment can give students a reflection to what they initially said and what they learned after the new content.
