Definition: Formative Assessments are used to check student comprehension over a topic. These are low stake and not weighted heavily.

3-2-1 Exit Ticket: Students will turn in a paper with 3 things they have learned, 2 things they were interested in and 1 question they still have.

Pop Quiz: Teacher will have a list of questions and go around the room asking students in random order.

Definition: Summative Assessments are also used to check student comprehension, but these are weighted more heavily and typically over large amount of information.

Unit Test: This is a big test given at the end of a unit to see how well a student learned the material.

Project: Students will have a large word problem to work through and explain each property of. They will have it worked out and be able to explain why the answer is the answer.
