Summative
DEF: Usually happens at the end of a unit, high-quality test, more of a formal exam.
Ex: Standardize test, unit assessments; multiple choice, short answer questions
Ex: Cumulative projects, research projects

Interim/Benchmark
DEF: evaluates student progress of learning and where they are at a certain time, this tracks if they are on track for performance to help see how the students will do on future assessments.

Formative
DEF: provides feedback to the student, helps gather evidence of student learning, teachers adjust instruction as needed during the lesson.
Ex: This can be thumbs up, thumbs down, exit tickets, or a discussion, pre & post assessments.

Diagnostic
DEF: This is a type of pre-assessment that is given to gage where a student is in their understanding, so teachers can evaluate the students weaknesses and strengths
