RESPIRATION
Respiration is a process in which we take in air, absorb oxygen from the air, exhale carbon dioxide, and oxidise food to make energy in the form of ATP.

Plants breathe through root hairs, lentils and stomata during the night. The guard cells near the stomatal opening also help in the exchange of gasses.

Some organisms like yeast respire only by anaerobic respiration, so they are called anaerobes.
They produce alcohol in the process of fermentation, so they are used to make wine and beer.
