Form of in-store marketing, designed to capture attention of buyers/ potential buyers. (DotActiv Team, 2016)

Temporary displays- Last couple of months, usually feature promotions/discount, usually made of inexpensive cardboard.
Semi-permanent displays- Usually displayed 3 months to a year, better quality, more effort in designs.
Permanent displays- less common, built for years of display, more for major brands. (DotActiv Team, 2016)

• Free Standing Displays- Commonly made out of cardboard, allow flexibility, easy to implement.
• End Caps- Placed at end of aisle, also allow to place in relevant areas without needing aisle shelf space.

• Educate about brand: Communicates unique value brand offers, use slogans, logos, colours.
• Eye-Catching and creative: bright colours, large logos and print.
• POP must have purpose- build traffic, create awareness and impression, increase sales.
• Understand customers- their demographic, what motivates them, what they value.
• Should look great & make sense- Customers like touching the product, clear price tags, discovering bargains.
