Performivity
Repetition of an act. Reinforcing 'beliefs' / 'values' instilled at home may conflict with learning in the classroom if parents led their child to believe that school is a waste of time.
Holland et al(98) suggested we don't have a choice to be someone, we are given identities.
Children's environment at home may have reinforced the belief that school is not important / worthwhile which may have led the student's behaviour to be disruptive in school. The class teacher would have to speak with the parents and provide reasoning to the child for being attentive in class for example ask the children what they would like to be when they grow up and tie that in with the subjects they would have to excel in at school to achieve their future goals. This would help the children to think about the benefits of attending school. Draw on the students interests to mould their thoughts and change their behaviour.
What changes to performances are we seeking to achieve? What will a satisfactory outcome look like and under what conditions will any change come about?
SEND
The Braithwaite Iceberg Model (2015) links this scenario as this explores the external factors such as behavior and academic performance in lessons. At the same time, the theory as acknowledges that there could also be underlying factors in play such as bereavement, home or an undiagnosed psychological need.
So how does this help? It means that we can offer the child better support in the classroom such as general observation, opinions from other members of staff and/or SENCO intervention.
Reflexivity
Liberating and empowering, modelling anti-essentialist thinking, languages and practices to challenge hidden, oppressive structures (Duncan, 2005; Leonardo, 2005; Hylton, 2012) #
Positionality
Involves sensitivity to others realising that they come from different backgrounds and different value systems (Corbin and Strauss, 2013) #
Problem Based Learning
Allow learners to share their experiences with others in the class.
Encourage them to reflect on their experiences.
Get them to think about what might happen if they did things differently.
Evidence suggests problem based learning is an instructional approach that offers the potential to help students develop flexible understanding and lifelong learning skills. (Silver, 2004).
Enhancing student motivation is a major advantage of PBL. (Silver, 2004).
PBL is learning through experience of solving problems. Children learn through social interaction and social transmission. Knowledge is passed from those more experience or able to those with less experience this could be teacher to pupil or pupil to pupil. Students learn through the experience of solving problems and learn both content and thinking strategies.
PBL appeals to students instincts (Dewey, 1936) learning starts with problem - orientation as a stimulus challenging and complex tasks motivate students and as a consequence faster learning.
Adopt more inclusive techniques (group rewards per table), incorporate activities that appeal to the students interests to get them motivated to learn. Provide activities that stimulate the children's learning level and stretches their ability. Use your tone and voice to assert your instructions to address low disruption in the classroom. Pair higher achieving students with lower ability students so children can help one another to solve class activities.
Power
Power in schools can be enforced through controlling the basic needs of the children such as when are they able to talk to their peers, their eating times

Working Memory
Piaget's theory of Cognitive Development (1936) can be a broadly accepted theory for children's general cognitive development. This would be a good way to allow teacher's to look for any potential learning difficulties and/or working memory. Behaviour might as a result of their frustration with not being able to complete the work.
We can help the child with this theory by observing their academic development and processing general instructions. From there we can look to deploy support for this such as memory aids, visual calendars and multi sensory lessons.
