Dispersion
Dispersion is the solitting of white light. The colours that make up white light are called the spectrum dispersion occurs because the different colours of the light refract differently red light refracts the less violet the most.

Refraction
When the light travels through the air it has a fast velocity but when it enters the lens the density changes causes it to slow down which changes the angle and when it leaves the lens it accelerates again back to normal speed. The incidence ray is before it enters the lens and the refracted ray is what comes out.
