In Sanskrit 'Himalaya' means 'adobe of snow'
there are 6 types of natural divisions in India that are:Northernmountains,Northernplains,the Great Indian Desert,Coastalplains,Peninsular plateau : and Islands are the 6 natural divisions of India
The Mt.Everest is (8,848)m it is situated between Nepal and Tibet(China)
there are two costal plains in India:The Western Coastal Plains in the Western Ghats and Eastern Coastal Plain in the Eastern Ghats
Archipelagos means a group of islands
Barren island which is in Andaman And Nicobar island has the only active volcano in India the volcano erupted after more than a hundred years it's lava burnt the trees and killed many birds and animals it also made the surrounding water hot
Inhabited means with people or animals living there
It is given this name because it is covered with snow all around the year
the second group of island is Lakshadweep islands which is in the Arabian sea in the west
Eastern coastal plain
there are 4 main rivers:Krishna,Kaveri,Mahanadi and Godavari
The Krishna river flows in the North of the Western coastal plain and it is also called as Nothern circars these rivers drain to The Bay Of Bengal
it is well known for growing rice
Eastern coastal plain is wider than the western coastal plain
There are 36 islands in them only 10 islands are inhabited they are:
There are 2 groups of islands in India:The Andaman and Nicobar in the East in Bay of Bengal
there are 550 islands only 36 are inhabited Indira Point which is the Southernmost point in India it lies in The Great Nicobar Island
Andaman and Nicobar islands are located in the Malabar coast
These 36 islands are called Coral islands
