Concept
Sedentary means living in one place. Before Homo Sapiens were sedentary, we were nomadic, which means that our ancestors had to travel from one place to another to find the resources they needed.

Changes
As more people settled in cities they needed more and more food; and he used more and more land for crops and the gaua was brought from further afield.

On the other hand, in Europe the problem was not the lack of water but the quality of the soil that was much less fertile so they changed their approach and used oxen and horses to plow the land and used animal manure as fertilizer.
