Causes
In São Paulo city, Brazil, the Tietê River is polluted by a vast amount of waste, mainly domestic sewage
Untreated sewage from 2 million people gets dumped there every day
not treated sewage is disposed on to the river, Pesticides are disposed into river, and trash as well
São Paulo rapidly expanded to become one of the world’s largest cities without a basic sanitation system
How fats the city growed and didnt have time to mantain a good sanitation of rthe size that it was at
Solutions
one attempt to reduce the amount of waste going into the river was to plant trees and plants around it so when it rained the trash wouldn't go into the river
not sending the waste(pollution) to the rivers, sending them to proper garbage and maybe recyclable power plant.
increase the amount of sewage collection which in return will help a larger amount of waste to get treated
When the city began expanding, factories and the metropolitan are without basic sanitation both discharged their waste and sewage in the river
Sewer being dumped inside the Tiete river is one of the causes
Uma das soluções para controlar a sujeira no rio seria instalar estações de tratamento dentro do próprio rio.
Outra opcao essencial é aumentar a quantidade de esgoto tratado, que hoje está em 64% na região metropolitana de São Paulo, o que é muito pouco para a total populacao
Para este tipo de melhoria e tratamento de esgota na cidade inteira esta previsto levar mais de vinte anos a partir de hoje
