Heterosexual, cisgender female
Being a woman affects my life and the way people treat me on a daily basis. It is my only oppressed social identity. On the other hand, my heterosexual and cisgender identities make my privilege in society where those are the norm. The personal experiences that I've had due to my gender have influenced how I see myself.
White, European descent
My race has given me a lot of privilege throughout my life. This has led to many experiences and opportunities that have influenced my identity. I am learning to use my privilege to expand my knowledge and values.

White, Christian
I went to church every Sunday and was very involved in my church when I was younger. This expanded my personal identity by building my relationships with my faith and the people in my church.

Written, spoken, and visual language are forms of self-expression.
Many of the books that I've been reading this summer are creative outlets of self-expression for the authors. By reading these books, I have learned new values that have helped to shape my personal identity.
