NONVIRAL HEPATITIS - Coggle Diagram
NONVIRAL HEPATITIS
ALCOHOLIC
- caused by ethanol in alcoholic beverages
- The chemicals will injure the liver cells and lead to inflammation
- most common precursor of cirrhosis in US
- Common in patients with long term of alcohol consumption
- HepC+ accelerates the development of chronic cirrhosis (scarring of liver)
TOXIC/DRUG
- Caused by inhalation / digestion of toxin substances or large number of drugs
- This will cause adverse liver reaction, causing the liver to have inflammation
Examples of toxin / drugs
- Amatoxin ( from mushroom )
- White Phosphorus ( industrial toxin )
- Pain killers , fever reducers , NSAIDs ( if taken overdose )
ISCHEMIC HEPATITIS
- Caused by the reduction of blood suply to the liver
- Maybe caused by low blood pressure ( heart failure, dehydration, severe bleeding )
- The decrease of circulation will distrupt the liver and causing the liver to not function properly
- This will cause inflammation to the liver cells
AUTOIMMUNE
- The body's immune system attacks the body's own cells and organs
- It is because the immune system cannot identify which is which
- At some point it will attack the liver cells and the liver itself
- Causing the liver to be inflamed
- Most likely caused by genetics
GRANULOMATOUS
- Abnormal collection of white blood cells in the liver
NON-ALCOHOLIC
- Resembles alcoholic hepatitis but occurs in non alcoholic person
- Can cause fatty liver or obesity
- Due to consumption of oily and fatty foods
- too much consumption will lead to inflammation
HEREDITARY
- caused by hereditary disorders
-
Excess copper in the liver because the liver cannot filter copper
- it will be deposited into the liver
- causing inflammation to the liver
