Nature of Allah
Tawhid
Ar- Rububiyyah, which is maintaining the oneness of lordship
Al- Asma’ was- Sifaat, which is maintaining the unity of Allah
Al- Ibadah, which is maintaining the unity of worship
-
Transcendent
Although he created the universe, he does not enter or interfere in any way
God is non-temporal, non-spatial and not immanent
-
Allah, the supreme being, is neither circumscribed by space, nor touched by time
The 3 R's
Perhaps the three most important of Allah’s 99 names or attributes are the “three Rs” which are taken from the first two sentences of the Al Fatihah, the first Surah of the Qur’an
In Arabic, the first sentence of the Al-Fatihah reads as Bismillah ir-Rahmaan ir-Raheem
-
Rabb, Rahmaan, Rahmeen- Omnipotence, Omnibenevolence, Omniscient
Divinely Simple
He is so powerful, he cannot have any partners
Tawhid suggests that Allah is strictly one being that is indivisible, simple and non-composite
Being indivisible and not made of components Allah cannot decay or fall apart like composite things in the universe that are made up of parts
Maliki Yawmuddin
The fourth sentence of the Al-Fatihah contains another important concept. Allah is regarded by all Muslims to be the Master of the Day of Judgment (Maliki Yawmuddin)
