Table 1: Blaming Germany for WWI
David Stevenson- AH wouldn't have taken action if Germany didn't back th up Austria Hungary.
James Edmonds- Kaiser Wilheim II could have stopped the war.
Hans-Ulrich Wehler- Germany preferred to have an authoritarian government and was not in favor of a democracy.
Sir Max Hastings- Germany could have stopped the war if they took back the blank cheque they gave Austria Hungary.
Holger Herwig- Germany had seen war as the only way to move forward and it was planned by multiple leaders together rather than just one.
Fritz Fischer- Germany initiated the war in order to build power, authority, military, and industry.
