ETHİCAL CONSİDERATIONS

Informed Consent
Participants are volunteers, they should not forced.
It is essential for participants to understand the nature of the experiment their role in it thus, they will be informed.
With signing papers, they agree to participate and state they are fully aware of the consequences.
If the participant is unable to sign, then the legal guardian will give the consent.

Debriefing
After the study, participants should be informed about the true aims, its nature, along with how the data will be used and stored.
If deception was used, it must be declared.

Deception
Can either be misinformation or not telling the the aim of the study. Therefore, valid consent is not taken.
Slight deception is used in some cases if it does not cause any stress. In fact, it is sometimes necessary considering the participants might show demand charateristics.
If it is used, the study should be approved by the ethics review board.
If it is used, they should be debriefed after the study. However, debriefing does not change the experience they had so ppts may still feel distressed.
