Adjectives, Definition - Coggle Diagram

      - Ex: I ordered 2 tasty, large pizzas for lunch.
      - Size related descriptive adjective (large) goes before the noun (pizza)
    - - Quantity
      - Ex: I ordered 2 tasty large pizzas for lunch.
      - As quantity is a cumulative adjective (2) it goes first amongst the adjectives
    - - Shape
      - Ex: The big old wide red pick-up truck puttered along the road.
      - The shape related adjective (wide) is placed before the age related adjective (old)a and is followed by the colour related descriptive adjective (red).
    - - Age
      - Ex: The big old ugly red pick-up truck puttered along the road.
      - Age related adjectives are placed after a size related adjective (big) and before a descriptive adjective (ugly).
    - - Colour
      - Ex: The big old ugly red pick-up truck puttered along the road.
      - Colour related adjectives are placed after an age related adjective (old), descriptive adjective (ugly) and before an adjective that describes type (‘pick-up’ truck).
    - - Origin
      - Ex: We found a beautiful 200-year-old blue Persian silk rug.
      - The origin adjective (Persian) is followed by the material related adjective (silk) only.
    - - Purpose
      - Ex: My pretty new electric folding mountain bike is so much fun!
      - In this sentence the purpose related adjective (mountain) is the adjective that ends the sentence.
    - - Type
      - Ex: My pretty new electric folding mountain bike is so much fun!
      - In this sentence the type adjective (folding) preexists all types of cumulative adjectives other than the purpose related adjective (mountain) followed by the noun (bike).
    - - Material
      - Ex: We found a beautiful 200-year-old blue Persian silk rug.
      - The material related adjective (silk) is followed by the type and purpose related adjectives only.
