Shadow Angle
Describes the position of Sun in 2 angles
Horizontal Shadow Angle (HSA)
Difference in azimuth between Sun's position & orientation of building face
between +/- 90' to 270'
No HSA if...
Sun behind the facade
Facade in shade
Vertical Shadow Angle (VSA)
Measured on a plane perpendicular to building face
VSA can exist only when HSA is between -90' and +90'
When Sun is directly opposite to building facade, solar altitude angle will equalto VSA
