Type 1 Diabetes - Coggle Diagram

- - - - Short-acting (regular) insulin
      - Intermediate-acting insulin (NPH)
      - Long-acting insulin
      - Rapid-acting insulin
- - - - Most commonly used to diagnose Type 1 Diabetes
      - Measures the percentage of blood sugar attached to hemoglobin
      - A1C level of 6.5 or higher on two separate tests indicates diabetes
    - - Taken at a random time and may be confirmed by repeat testing
      - Random blood sugar level of 200mg/dL or higher suggests diabetes no matter what they ate before
    - - If its 126 mg/dL or higher on two occasions, this diagnoses diabetes
      - Fasting blood sugar level from 100-125 mg/dL is considered pre-diabetes
      - Taken after an overnight fast
