Time, date and month of the year
Altitude and Azimuth
Latitude(which angle North/South)
Orientation of the building
Shadow angle protractor
: Transparent semi-circular angle protractor that shows the sets of lines
HSA

Enable designing appropriately sized shading control device
VSA
(Archual lines)
External shading devices can eliminate solar radiation on a building
Shadow angle
Express sun's position(in Azimuth and Altitude)
HSA(Horizontal Shadow Angle)
Defn
: Is the difference in azimuth between sun's position and orientation of the building face considered, when the edge of the shadow falls on the point considered
Describes the angle in plan
VSA(Vertical Shadow Angle)
Measured on a plane perpendicular to the building face.
Describes the angle made on the vertical plan(section or elevation)
