It is rude to pour your own drink, instead what you can do is pour everyone else's drink and then someone will notice your empty drink and will fill it for you.
In Japan it is considered threatening to point instead people will often indicate the direction with an open hand instead of one finger.
If you were to have a business Meeting in a restaurant you are not meant to eat off of a common dish you are meant to take it to your plate before you begin to eat it.

Japan has two major religions. They are Shintoism that 70% of the population follows, and Buddhism that 69.8% of the population follow. It exceeds 100% because many people follow both Shintoism and Buddhism.

Benefits and barriers
A very obvious barrier for trading and business would be the language difference, this could lead to misunderstandings and business issues
Japan and Canada are not very far from each other and there for the likeliness of goods being damaged on transport between Canada and Japan would be less
Another barrier would be the cultural differences. For example men are generally respected more than women in business. The Japanese also respect age so if your a young business owner deals may be more difficult.
