Unfair Tax System
The Three Estates had a very unfair system because the Third Estate had to pay almost all the taxes. This led to wanting change in for the tax system in the economy.
High Cost of Food
A drought in 1788 caused a lack of food, which means the food prices went up. For example, after the French Revolution, peasants would have to spend 88% on bread because of the high price .
The American Revolution
France signed a military alliance, and went to war with Britain. This caused France to lose over a billion livres on the war.
Extreme court and unnecessary spending
The Royal Family spent so much money on clothes and Jewelry. This relates to Marie Antoinette the most.
