- - - - Hitler came into power in 1933 and immediately started increasing Germany's armed forces
        -thousands of workers drafted into the army, helped reduce unemployment (one of the biggest issues of Germany)
        -kept secret until 1935, where he held a massive military rally celebrating German armed forces
        -greatly boosted morale within Germany

    - - Hitler moved troops into the Rhineland
        -Demilitarisation of the Rhineland was one of the terms of TOV (blatant violation)
        -Hitler used Franco-Soviet treaty as an excuse to claim that Germany was under threat and that he should be allowed to place troops on his own frontier
        signf: angered the french already (although they could not do anything about it at that point in time as they were distracted by the Abyssinian crisis and France did not want to act without support of Britain.)
