Adaptations in different enviroments
tropical rainforest
Animals
A common adaptation is a mimicry, the animal use the mimicry to protect himself, he act like a non-living thing
this is a behvioural adaptation because they need to behave like the thing they are mimycring
as the mimicry, another useful thing to protect is the camouflage, it helps to hide from the predator and in some cases, it helps the prey
this is a structural adaptation because the camoflague is in the skin
Plants:
some plants do the photosyntesis without too much light, this is a physiological adaptation
grassland
Animals
the camoflauge is a very common adaptation because it allows to the predators to hide
this is a structural adaptation becase the camoflauge is in the skin
some animlas, like bison have specialized stomachs, it helps to the animal to eat grass, also their teeths are modified
as it happens inside the body is a physiological adaptation
Polar region
Animals
Most of the mammals in the polar regions have dense fur, this allows them to survive in extreme cold weathers
this is a structural adaptation
Plants
a adaptation in the polar region is that sometimes the trees hold on the dead leaves for isolation this is a behavoural adaptation
Desert
Animals:
structural adaptation: The jackrabbit has big ears that can help him to get down the heather in his body
Another example is the camels, they don't sweat, because they need to regulate they temperature, also they don't have sweat glands
physiological adpatation
Plants
some examples of physiological and structural adaptations in plants are:
-big roots: some plants have big roots, those can help them to absorb water in the ground
-cactus: the cacti have some spikes that can prevent him to lose water
Aquatic regions
Plants
some plants have roots in the water, but they try to rise to the earth to make efficiently the photosyntesis
physiological adaptation
