Desert, Tropical Rainforest, Temperate Grassland, Temperate Woodland,…
Desert
The biotic factors in the desert provide food and hydration for many animals. For example, a cactus can be a source of hydration for birds or others animals depending on their physical traits.
Some examples of Biotic Factors Include:
- Rattle Snakes
- Cacti
- Coyote
- Big Horn Sheep
Abiotic Factors in the desert include:
- The Sand
- The Temperature
- Rocks
- Water that is Available
This specific biome is very different from the others. For example, It is very hot and dry compared to the other biomes like Tropical Grassland or Temperate Woodland.

Bird eats cacti, Raddle Snake eats bird
Tropical Rainforest
In the tropical rainforest, many animals and plants are around and used as energy sources for other animals. Tucans, lizards, trees, and fruits are all located in the tropical rainforest. The toucan eats the fruit and then eventually the toucan is eaten by a bigger predator.
More Biotic Factors Include:
- Red Eye Tree Frogs
- Boa Constrictor
- Ferns
- Orchids
Abiotic Factors in the tropical rain forest include:
- Precipitation
- Wind
- Temp
What makes the Tropical Rainforest different from other biomes is the Temp and Precipitation. The boom is very humid/hot aswell as a very high precipitation levels.
The mouse eats random seeds, the mouse gets eaten by the snake

Temperate Grassland
-
Biotic Factors in the Tropical Grassland include:
- Rabbits
- Snakes
- Purple Needlegrass
- Wild oats
-
-
buffolo eats grass, wolf pack attacks buffalo, wolf eats buffalo
Biotic factors in the temperate grassland include buffalo, grass and prairie dogs. Snakes, rodents, and other small animals are not uncommon. Shrubs and trees are rarely found around the temperate grassland.
Abiotic Factors in the Temperate Grassland include:
- Soil
- Precipitation
- Wild Fires
Soil in the temperate grassland holds a lot of of dry grass. There is a good amount of precipitation, but since the biome itself is dry, Wild fires are not uncommon.
Temperate Woodland
-
Bird eats berry, Rattlesnake eats bird
-
In the temperate woodlands, you'll find many different snakes and birds. Camouflage is not uncommon with wild animals, speaking that there are a lot of shrubs and grasses.
Biotic Factors in the Temperate Woodland include:
- Hawks
- Ever green shrubs
- Rattle snakes
- Ferns
Abiotic Factors in Temperate Woodland include:
- poor soil
- hot/dry climate
- wild fires
In this biome, It is dry and hot with poor soil. There is mild precipitation year round, but there are wildfires that pop up every once and a while.
-
Temperate Forest
Biotic Factors Include:
- Deer
- Lichen
- Pine Trees
- Owls
Abiotic Factors in the Temperate Forest Include:
- Soil
- Laditude
- Climate
What makes the temperate forest unique from other biomes is the soil composition. The soil is made up of many minerals which makes it very fertile to grow plants in.
-
The deer eats the grass, the wolf eats the deer
Biotic factors in the Temperate Forest include fox's, birds, wild flowers, maple trees and more. When fall comes around, the trees leaves turn a different color and eventually fall off the tree.
-
-
Taiga
The Taiga biome includes many biotic factors. Animals such as deers, bears, and coyotes are found in the Biome. Plants in the Taiga biome include cranberry bushes, moss, and pine trees.
Abiotic Factors in the Taiga include:
- Temp
- Snow
- Permafrost
The best way to explain the Taiga is a frozen forest. Its cold and it snows most of the time. Whats unique about the Taiga is that it has permafrost. Permafrost is soil that is permanently frozen, and since soil isn't living, permafrost counts as an abiotic factor.

Woodpecker eats wood (tree), Coyote eats woodpecker
More Biotic factors include:
- Birch Trees
- Cranbarry bushes
- Lynx
- Woodpecker
-
Tundra
cod eats krill, seal eats cod
The tundra is the coldest biome out of all. Many of the animals there have a thick coat of fur and/or fat to keep them warm. This includes penguins, and polar bears. Fish is also common in the tundra. Finally, plants in the tundra include shrubs, small plants, and willow trees.
Biotic factors in the tundra include:
- mosses
- arctic foxes
- polar bears
- liverworts
Abiotic Factors in the Tundra include:
- snow
- climate
- permafrost
The tundra has a lot of snow, which is caused by the constant cold climate. To add, the tundra has permafrost, which is permenently frosted soil basically. You can't grow much from it, but it still is a recource available.

Tropical Grassland
-
-
Zebra eats grass, cheetah eats zebra
-
In the tropical grassland, obviously there is a lot of grass; for example, Bermuda and lemon grass. Trees include acacia trees and jackleberry trees. Animals include hyenas, gazelles, and mousebirds.
Abiotic Factors in the Tropical Grassland Include:
- Sunlight
- Soil
- Latitude
The Tropical Grassland is very sunny and bright. The soil is very fertile, meaning that it is very nutrient rich and good to grow things in. Finally, the latitude in the tropical grassland ranges into both northern and southern hemispheres, thus making it very hot.
Biotic factors in the Tropical Grassland include:
- Elaphants
- Ants
- Shrubs
- Many types of grass
