THREE TRAITS OF FREEDOM
- Our capacity to say no to God.
- The capacity of the human self.
- Freedom is the hallmark of human nature.
-
- We become more aware of freedom when we face restraints.
- Testing our limits is the manifestation of freedom within us.
- Freedom must take into account moral norms, rules proverbs, commandments, laws and principles.
-
FREE WILL
- There would not be freedom if a person was not able to use it.
- Must act in ways that don't take away others freedom or downplay their own freedom.
- Even if the act is in favour of evil.
RESPONSIBILITY
- A person is responsible for everything they do but they cannot be held fully accountable when they do something out of fear, ignorance, intoxication or under the pressure of bad habits.
- Should be willing to take responsibility.
-
- When you exercise freedom, the action that results can leave a mark or a change in the world.
- In some ways, being free means we are not complete. We have unrealized possibilities.
- Those possibilities is what makes us free.
- Freedom is primarily and exclusively due to the action of the Spirit, the freedom comes within and the guidance you can feel from Christ and his doings.
- God gives everyone an equal chance in life, all of us have to decide about our lives.
- God assists us with grace but we must initiate our first conversation with him.
