hypoxia- assess oxygen saturation, cyanosis of extremities, labored breathing, tachycardia, and use of accessory muscles for breathing
pulmonary edema- auscultate for crackles in the lungs, shortness of breath, and bloody sputum
hypoxemia- assess peripheral cap refill and cyanosis, mental assessment for level of consciousness, and potential hypotension
infection management- monitor fever, inflammation, breathing pattern, and x-ray to see if the pneumonia has progressed or healed
