Masking the microphone
Prevent camfecters hearing you
Turn off the computer after use
Some people may put their computers on 'low power mode' or 'hibernation', which still allows the webcam to be activated. It is IMPOSSIBLE to access a webcam if the device is genuinely off.

Somethings look too good to be true. Because they're not true. A link promising free items or something similar is most likely to be a gate to the most malicious software ever to be downloaded on your device
Notice phishing is very beneficial, and also very crucial. Emails sent by people you don't know MUST be ignored, deleted and blocked
Cyber knowledge
Know when your camera and microphone are being used. Click on the padlock near the URL and it will tell you what the website has access to.
There will be a red dot in the tab when the microphone or camera are being used.
What websites need a microphone or camera. Streaming or on a video call? You can expect the dot to be in your tab. When your playing a game and you need your camera? You might want to tape your microphone and camera and never visit the site again. That would be the most safest way to approach the issue. Furthermore, you may want to run anti-virus to double check for malware
Other ways
Spreading awareness is the best way to ensure everybody is safe from camfecters
Try and develop new antivirus to ensure microphone and camera hacking will be extremely difficult
Do you really need a camera on some devices. Try and use them as rarely as possible.
