Flagella allow movement, only in prokaryotes
Nuclear envelope is the layer surrounding the nucleus, double membrane layer that holds DNA inside. Has nuclear pores
Nucleolus is the area of the nucleus which appears dark, produces ribosomes
Lysosomes are vesicles containing hydrolytic enzymes that break down unwanted cell materials. they breakdown pathogens engulfed during phagocytosis
ER is a network of membranes which enclose flattened sacs (cisternae). Can be continuous with nuclear membrane
Smooth ER makes, packages and transports carbohydrates and lipids
Rough ER synthesizes, packages and transports proteins. Has ribosomes embedded in their surface
Golgi Apparatus is made of cisternae, it receives and modifies proteins, it packages the proteins into vesicles for use within, or to be secreted from the cell
Centrioles are part of the cytoskeleton, made of microtubules, they have a role in forming spindle fibres during cell division
