Interim/Benchmark
Six week benchmark tests are given every six weeks to track student progress throughout the school year and monitor student learning.
STAAR Is a standardized test that assess what students have learned over the couse of the school year.
Performance
Reading Aloud a poem is a performance assessment because it can assess the reading ability and fluency of students.
One- Minute Speech is an example of a performance assessment because it assess what students know and allows them to show their abilties off.
Diagnostic
Running Records are an example of a diagnostic test because you are assessing what your students are capable of doing and what skills they posses.
Phonics Inventory Is another example of a diagnostic test that provides the teacher with information on their students and their knowledge before direct instruction is given.
Formative
Exit Ticket: A simple question that can be posed to students at the end of the lesson. It can be done on a sticky note and will let the teacher know what students understood from the lesson.
Thumbs Up/ Thumbs Down Is an easy way to assess students during a lesson. Students will simply give a thumbs up or a thumbs down and the teacher can determine what students are struggling with or where she can provide assistance to students.
Final exams are an example of summative assessments. They assess all the information a student Is expected to know by the end of the year.
